Winston Churchill (11/30/1874 - 01/24/1965), Prime Minister of the United
Kingdom
from 1940-45 and 1951-55, is probably the most influential historical character
in my life.
His words, his actions, his nerve and especially, his integrity have inspired me
since my youth
(thanks to an English mum and her instilling into me my great love of
literature and history).
I hope you enjoy just a hand-full of my favorite quotes.
How easy to do nothing, how hard to achieve anything.
Winston Churchill, 1915
Eating words has never given me indigestion
Winston Churchill
Democracy is the worst system devised by wit of man, except for all the others.
Winston Churchill
Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never -
in nothing, great or small, large or petty-
never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense.
Winston Churchill
It is better to be right and alone than part of the crowd but wrong.
